Photographing all provinces of Pakistan

Photographing all provinces of Pakistan

Traveling all across Pakistan, i still feel how less i have traveled this country. Is this life enough to cover all places of Pakistan? Have been missing lots of historical sights of Sindh, the beautiful Swat, lots of treks in Baltistan, hidden mountains of Balochistan, Kashmir beyond just Muzafarabad, hundreds of lakes and a lot more. However, i still feel good that atleast i keep on going. Life goes on and lets see how much will i explore more of Pakistan in future.

Just sharing a single photograph from each province of Pakistan that i feel is truly breathtaking for me.  Its not the photograph that i am sharing, but a feeling that i had while taking these photograph.

I just have one question for you? Have you traveled to all provinces of Pakistan? if yes, how? and if not, then tell me which one are you missing? Post in your answers in the comments below.

From the Balcony of my Hotel Room in Hindukush Heights, Chitral, Pakistan

I am still traveling these days. From Sindh to Balochistan to Khyber-Pakthunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir and now going to Gilgit-Baltistan. The above picture was taken during my 3 day stay in Hotel Hindukush Heights Chitral. I spent my time reading travelogues and having lots and lots of tea while enjoying the spectacular view.

I would strongly recommend you to stay in Hotel Hindukush heights if you prefer isolation, expect a spectacular view and a luxury stay. I will be writing a complete review of the places i have stayed in while i am back home.

Have you also stayed in any hotel of such type that offers some magnificent view in Pakistan? please do share. I would love to experience it.

Happiness lies in the eyes of beholder

Happiness lies in the eyes of beholder

Local kids at village Paniala, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

I was in search of Happiness, was always finding out ways what makes me happy. Either it is success, or some reward, internal motivation or even a praise by someone.

I went for trying thousand ways. Initially i thought metrial gains would make me happy but fortunately i figured it wrong at pertty early stage of my life. I came to a conclusion that happiness is your inner state of satisfaction. It lies within you. You need to find it out. Its not out there somewhere, but its right here with you. FIND IT OUT.
I find happiness in traveling, meeting with people, interacting with locals. I find happiness in meeting people who are ordinary like me. I find happiness in helping someone in need. I find happiness when someone is happy with me icon smile Happiness lies in the eyes of beholder

Trich Mir where Fairies live

Trich Mir where Fairies live
trich mir 450x301 Trich Mir where Fairies live

Trich Mir from Ayun Valley

“Fairies live there and they protect this valley from evil and never allow anyone to climb up to Trich Mir and meet them, if someone does, he never returns.”
Thats what my guide told me pointing at that mountain and thats where i got to know about its name “Trich Mir“. Later i got to know that its highest peak in Hindukush range and 33rd in world.

For a minute he really made me imagine fairies flying and living in the snow, the white bright fairies. But obviously, that was too far away from reality.

I have experienced such myths about certain mountains while traveling all across Pakistan. For example mountains of Lake Saifulmalook in Naran or Zarghoon Mountain range in Quetta are one of them.

I am pretty much fascinated by such things and seriously these things then tends me to explore more, to actually find out the hidden beauty.

Do you have any such story regarding any place? Any myth? Please do share in the comment below.

Wallpaper for October 2010 from Paniala, Pakistan

October is going busy and it was really difficult for me to choose wallpaper for this month. So i decided to put on a wallpaper from my jeep trip to Paniala back in summers 2009 since I have lots of memories attached with that trip. So this month is dedicated to my journey to “Paniala”

Paniala is a small village located in the north of district D.I. Khan of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa about 55 km away from D I Khan and approx 300 Km from provincial capital Peshawar. The Link Road (also known as Gilloti Road) from main Peshawar Road that connects with Paniala is of about 18 km.
The name “Paniala” originated from “Panjh Naala” means 5 Naalas stemming from “OOBO SIR” (in Pashto) means “head of water” and then combines into one form. The water is then supplied to whole of the village and nearby towns for feeding and cultivating the fields. And then from passage of time the name Panjh Naala changed in to “Paniala”.
The green grassland comprises sandy area and a population of 120,000 citizens. The inhabitant comprises Marwats, Khels, Hashmis and Qureshis. Local language spoken is Pashto with soft and sweet dialect. The prominent shrine of Haji Baba and two important grave of Sahabis (RA) are also situated.
Famous fruits of the town are Mangoes and Dates. “Dhakki” is one of the famous and delicious amongst all dates and is a major part of export.
The famous nearby picnic spot is the mountainous hilly region of Sheikh Badin that comprises lush green forest, an old nonfunctioning post office and police station of British time.

Missing my room in Bumboret Valley, Kalash

Missing my room in Bumboret Valley, Kalash

Kalash room 301x450 Missing my room in Bumboret Valley, Kalash

I spent 4 days in this room, with nothing but myself. No electricity, candle light in the night and the short sized bed (that was not fit for my size and I used to pull it down to sleep).

The best part is I was the only guest in the hotel, and I made a good friendship with the hotel owner Abdul Ghaffar Sahab.

My stay in Bumboret made me less afraid of darkness, lonliness and tought me how to deal with isolation. I found Isolation the best to travel since it gives me time to think about the creature of this beautiful world and about myself.

I spent my days shooting the Kalash Valleys while i used to read Travels of Ibn-e-Batuttah in nights.

The hotel was new and i paid Rs. 450 a night. I must say whoever goes to the Bumboret valley must stay with Mr. Ghaffar in Hotel Rose to enjoy his good company.
